Compliance

In today's volatile climate of health care regulatory enforcement, medical practices generally experience compliance problems because they have limited time and resources to acquire information about the intricate regulatory and financial environment of health care. Yet, every practice faces great exposure to risks of financial and punitive damages due to violations of civil and criminal statutes unless they make a conscious effort to comply.

Through a corporate compliance review, Coker Group can help your organization minimize risk for noncompliance and to deal with it effectively if you discover it. Compliance services offered:

  • Compliance Plan. A compliance plan is a written document that outlines how the Practice will abide by regulations (Example: Medicare billing guidelines); how the Practice will conduct business relations; and how the Practice will monitor its own actions to ensure compliance. A Compliance Plan is used to promote full compliance with legal responsibilities; foster ethical conduct; and provide guidance to each employee.
  • Corporate Compliance Review. This review includes adherence to Medicare and Medicaid (Example, coding; Stark I, II, III; fraud and abuse; medical necessity, False Claims Act, etc.); and Practice Operations (Examples: Internal controls, purchasing, Joint Commission, contracting, other regulatory bodies).

Coker will assist you in developing a customized plan for your unique practice environment.
